2010 OFFICIAL’S CAMP
AN IHSA CERTIFIED CAMP

This spring and summer’s camp shall be held in conjunction with:
                                                                                                                                                                                                       
    Bloom High School boy’s varsity summer league – Tues. thru Thurs. June ***         
Rich East High School Girl's Sophomore Summer League - Mon. thru Thurs. June & July ***    
Bloom High School boy’s varsity shootout – Scheduled date July 7 & 8 ***         
Bloom High School girl’s varsity shootout – Scheduled date July 9 & 10 ***       
                                    
Are you a varsity official that wants to keep sharp and hone your skills?     
Are you working lower levels and want to improve your skills so that you can move up?   
Are you a newer official in need of instruction from veteran, experienced officials?    
Do you want to be seen and evaluated by conference assignment chairpersons?    


If you answered yes to any of the above questions, then the Southland Basketball Official’s Camp (SBOC) is the camp for     
you. The SLBOA is committed to the enhancement of the officials it assigns. This goal can be accomplished by you giving   
us an opportunity to observe and redirect the many different ways the game is being officiated on the court today. Those    
officials who desire to be assigned to higher levels than you are presently officiating; this camp will give you an opportunity
to prove your ability to officiate stronger competition.  Clinicians, observers, assignors, coaches and athletic directors will  
be in attendance; their opinions will give you an opportunity to be promoted.                                                                            

AT THE SOUTHLAND BASKETBALL OFFICIAL’S CAMP WE INTEND TO HELP YOU:    
        Sharpen your mechanics                                            
        Improve your judgment                                               
                 Improve your floor positioning                                                 
        Improve your floor presence                                        
                               Improve your communication with coaches, players and your partner
A classroom session will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2009 at Bloom High School, 101 W. Tenth St. in Chicago Heights, IL.
(Chicago Rd. And Rt#1). The meeting will begin at 6:30pm sharp and will end at 8:00pm.  All campers are required to             
attend.  The games will be played beginning June 2nd, at the locations shown above.  In addition to your games, you will     
have access to valuable information and instruction from veteran officials, clinicians and assignors.  Each camper will        
receive a review and evaluation following each game worked, from his/her observer for that game.                                        
Conference assignment chairpersons tentatively scheduled to attend are shown below:
East Suburban Catholic - Private School League - River Valley - SAC/Boys – SAC/Girls
Southwest Suburban/Boys – Southwest Suburban/Girls - Suburban Catholic – West Suburban
Cost for the camp is $75.00 per camper

REGISTRATION MUST BE RECEIVED NO LATER THAN 04-24-09

Registration may be returned by E-Mail or by U.S.P.S. mail.
Mailed payments must be received prior to the start of camp, in order for you to work your scheduled games.

NOTE – ATTENDANCE AT THIS CAMP IS VOLUNTARY AND IS NOT MANDATORY FOR ASSIGNMENT IN ANY CONFERENCE.
CAMPERS ARE NOT GUARANTEED ASSIGNMENT IN ANY CONFERENCE.

We are starting to formulate adult and kids teams to play Gus macker and Hoop-It-UP 3on3 tournaments for the summer.  Also, our parent      
A.P.M.C., Inc.  is excited about moving forward with plans to build its own facility, to be located
TBD somewhere in the South Suburban area!  
As of now we have two grade school and on high school child doing six week training for basketball.  We are looking forward to other
mentoring activities for children in need throughout the 2010 summer season!  Keep checking back here for further updates and please feel
